The Xiamen University Library Law Branch began trial operations on Sept 7. Located on the second and third floors of Huangyi Building at the university's Siming Campus, the facility covers more than 6,000 square meters.

The branch is designed to hold about 450,000 books, including mainstream legal literature and specialized collections such as United Nations depository materials, a foreign-language collection on South China Sea studies, and books donated by Professor Chen An. Some original foreign-language books date back to the first half of the 20th century.

Around 600 seats and 29 ocean-view study rooms are available. It also features multimedia meeting rooms and AI pods equipped with audiovisual facilities for AI-assisted learning.

The new branch offers integrated borrowing and returning services with the university's main library and other branch libraries, allowing readers to pick up and return books at the closest location. Specialized librarians are also available to provide professional literature retrieval and information literacy training.

The branch is open from 8 am to 10 pm daily and closed on Wednesday afternoons for maintenance. Specific arrangements are subject to notices posted at the library.
