XMU food guide: Zhangzhou Campus

Zhangzhou Campus offers a variety of dining options across its northern, central, and southern areas. Each canteen has its distinct style and specialties, ensuring that all students and staff can find something to enjoy.


North Zone Canteen

Opening Hours

-Breakfast: 06:00 am–10:00 am

-Lunch: 10:00 am–1:00 pm

-Dinner: 4:00 pm–8:00 pm

Located directly across from the track and field ground, the North Zone Canteen is easily accessible from the North Gate—just walk straight ahead until you reach the stadium. The canteen spans three floors.

First Floor: Budget-friendly daily meals, including marinated meats, teppanyaki, spicy hot pot, and a wide range of noodle dishes.

Second Floor: Regional specialties like lamb dishes. Korean-style bibimbap and various snacks.

Third Floor: A snack paradise that combines flavors from across China, accommodating birthday parties, teacher appreciation banquets, and group gatherings.


Central Zone Canteen

Opening Hours

-Breakfast: 06:30 am–10:00 am

-Lunch: 10:00 am–1:00 pm

-Dinner: 4:10 pm–7:00 pm

Located near the Fengting dormitory complex and the main teaching buildings, the Central Zone Canteen spans two floors, offering a variety of dining options.

First Floor: Serves daily meals alongside a selection of regional and international dishes. Highlights include South Fujian specialties, zhajiang noodles, Italian pasta, and dumplings.

Second Floor: A bright and spacious self-service area. Be sure to try the limited-time homemade desserts, such as puddings and other sweet treats, which are made fresh and available in limited quantities.


South Zone Canteen

Opening Hours

Breakfast: 06:00 am–10:00 am

Lunch: 10:00 am–1:00 pm

Dinner: 4:00 pm–7:10 pm

Walk straight for about 100 meters from the South Gate to reach the South Zone Canteen.

Second Floor: Offers a variety of daily meals centered on Fujian cuisine while blending flavors across China. Must-try dishes include handcrafted Northeastern dumplings, traditional clay pot dishes with a 20-year legacy, roasted sweet potatoes, grilled sausages, and tea eggs.

Third Floor: Home to Sichuan cuisine stalls, including a Chongqing noodle counter. Known for its bold and spicy flavors, this floor delivers an authentic taste of Sichuan. The menu rotates weekly to ensure freshness, variety, and a satisfying dining experience.
