A Malaysian cultural experience event was held on April 3 at Xiamen University's Xiang'an Campus, attracting more than 50 Chinese and international students as part of the third edition of the "Small Living Room, Big World" series.
The event featured a traditional Malaysian dance performance, with dancers in traditional attire performing to Malaysian music. The performance drew applause and cheers from students and faculty.
A presentation followed, using Malaysia's national flag, slides and video footage to introduce the country's history, geography, and multicultural society. It also explored the cultural traditions and everyday life of the three major ethnic groups — Malays, Chinese, and Indians — giving participants a broader understanding of Malaysia's diverse cultural heritage.
Students then took part in three interactive activities: a card-matching challenge, a dialect quiz, and a traditional Malaysian game known as Batu Seremban. Malaysian students helped explain the rules and cultural background, while Chinese and international students worked together to complete the challenges.
The activities offered participants an opportunity to learn about Malaysian culture through hands-on activities and encouraged exchanges among students from different cultural backgrounds.
