The 2nd XMU-XMUM Electrochemistry Summer School was held by Xiamen University (XMU) and Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) from July 21 to 23, bringing together more than 50 participants from Malaysian universities and companies.

The three-day program was organized by the China-Malaysia International Institute for Advanced Studies (CMIIAS), XMUM, the State Key Laboratory of Physical Chemistry of Solid Surfaces, and XMU's College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.

Faculty members, young researchers, and graduate students from more than 10 Malaysian universities attended lectures and laboratory sessions covering electrochemical theories, research methods, and the latest developments in the field.

The summer school featured nine lectures covering electrochemical fundamentals, research methods, emerging applications in energy, materials science, and artificial intelligence. Five experimental stations were also set up, allowing participants to gain hands-on experience in electrochemical experiments and research techniques through group rotations.

Founded in 2009, XMU's electrochemistry summer school has developed into a platform for training young researchers and promoting academic exchange. XMU launched the Malaysia edition in 2025 to strengthen collaboration between its main campus and XMUM in areas including new energy, green chemistry, and artificial intelligence.
