Scholars from China, France, Sweden, and Chile gathered in Montpellier, France, from June 26 to 27 for the Third SOE (XMU) and CEE-M (UM) Joint Workshop on Environmental and Behavioral Economics, organized by Xiamen University (XMU) and the University of Montpellier's Center for Environmental Economics (CEE-M).

Three economists from XMU — Professors Zhou Yinggang and Dong Xiaofang, and Associate Professor Li Zhi — presented their latest research during the two-day event.

The workshop featured 14 presentations on topics including climate policy, carbon border adjustment, air pollution, sustainable investment, disaster risk and environmental governance.

Faculty members from CEE-M, including Marc Willinger, Fabien Prieur, Philippe Mahenc, Mickael Beaud, and Stefano Farolfi, as well as graduate students, joined discussions on research design, experimental methods, policy applications, and future collaboration.

The workshop is part of an ongoing academic partnership between XMU and CEE-M. Previous events were held at the University of Montpellier in 2024 and at XMU in 2025, with participation expanding to scholars from universities and research institutions across Europe, Asia, and South America.
