A delegation of 26 international students from Xiamen University's Chinese International Education College/Overseas Education College completed a seven-day immersive field study through Beijing and Hangzhou from July 4 to 10.

Designed to provide experiential learning beyond the classroom, the itinerary encouraged students to explore the intersection of ancient civilization and modern industry through site visits.

In Beijing, the group visited the Palace Museum and the Juyongguan section of the Great Wall to experience ancient Chinese architecture and its rich historical legacy. At the China Science and Technology Museum and NetEase headquarters, students learned about the application of artificial intelligence and smart manufacturing.

The journey continued in Hangzhou, where students surveyed the cultural landscape of the West Lake before investigating advancements in smart manufacturing at Geely Auto Group and Hangzhou Shenhao Technology.

The experiential learning extended to traditional craftsmanship with hands-on sessions at the Zhejiang Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum. At Yue Fei Temple, the group explored historical memories, highlighted by a South Korean student's floral tribute at the shrine of the legendary general.
