The 22nd National Congress on Catalysis, China's largest and most prestigious event in the catalysis field, was held from Dec 13 to 16 at the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center.

The congress was jointly organized by the Catalysis Professional Committee of the Chinese Chemical Society and Xiamen University (XMU) and hosted by the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and the State Key Laboratory of Physical Chemistry of Solid Surfaces at XMU.

Featuring keynote presentations, thematic symposia, and poster sessions, the congress provided a comprehensive platform to exchange cutting-edge catalysis research and applications in fields such as chemical engineering, energy, environmental science, materials science, and life sciences.

The ceremony for the 10th China Catalysis Awards was held on-site, presenting three categories: the Achievement Award (also known as "Award of Zhang Dayu"), the Young Scientist Award, and the Rising Star Award. Zhang Tao, academician and researcher at the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, received the Achievement Award for his outstanding contributions to the field of single-atom catalysis. Ten young scientists under the age of 35, including Gao Mingbin, associate professor at XMU, received the Rising Star Award.

Held biennially since its inception, the National Congress on Catalysis has become a key platform in China for sharing research achievements, inspiring ideas, and fostering collaboration in the catalysis community.
