2025 XMU-SMU Econometrics Conference kicks off

The 2025 XMU-SMU Econometrics Conference was held at Xiamen University (XMU) on Nov 12.

The conference included a team of scholars from Singapore Management University (SMU), with keynote speeches by Professor Xiao Zheng from the Department of Economics at the University of Southern California and Professor Li Jia, dean of SMU's School of Economics.

Professor Zhou Yinggang, dean of the School of Economics and Wang Yanan Institute for Studies in Economics at XMU, delivered the welcome speech highlighting the strong ties between XMU and SMU in joint programs, academic exchanges, and expressed expectations for the continued collaboration and mutual development.

After the opening ceremony, Professor Xiao Zheng and Professor Li Jia delivered keynote speeches, titled "Semiparametric Estimation of All Regression coefficients for Sample interactive Effects Models" and "Learning Before Testing: A Selective Nonparametric Test for Conditional Moment Restrictions" respectively.

The conference included five parallel sessions with 16 presentations. Participants engaged in discussions on topics such as microeconometrics, applied macroeconomics, as well as artificial intelligence and machine learning methods.
