The final of the 2025 TI Cup National Undergraduate Electronic Design Contest was hosted by Dalian University of Technology (DUT) from Aug 20 to 21. Xiamen University's (XMU) teams delivered outstanding performances, winning three national first prizes and five national second prizes, the most XMU has ever earned in the competition.
The TI Cup employs a "single competition and two-level awards" system, comprising undergraduate and higher vocational college divisions.
It covers cutting-edge areas such as electronic system design, embedded development, and artificial intelligence applications, emphasizing the integration of theoretical design with hands-on implementation. Over 500 universities nationwide participated enthusiastically this year.
In response to significant changes in the selection rules, XMU's School of Electronic Science and Engineering (National Model Microelectronics College) began preparations a year in advance, implementing structured organization and scientific training.
Following multiple rounds of internal selection, 41 teams comprising more than 120 students advanced to the Fujian provincial contest, the largest number of participants scale in XMU history.
The School of Electronic Science and Engineering has actively embraced the new engineering initiative, harnessing academic competitions as a key platform for cultivating innovative talent.
A tiered training system has been established across all academic years: foundational courses and innovation encouragement for lower-year students, and advanced system design and engineering practice for upper-year students.
