XMU students earn eight top prizes at 20th China Graduate Electronics Design Contest

The national finals of the 20th China Graduate Electronics Design Contest were held in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, from Aug 14 to 17.

Students from Xiamen University (XMU) received eight national first prizes, including five in the technical category, one in the corporate-sponsored category, and two in the business category, as well as six second prizes in the technical category.

In addition, one technical category first-prize team also received the Optical Communication Special Award, one of only ten nationwide, while a business category first-prize team earned the Most Commercially Valuable Award, one of only six nationwide.

XMU was recognized as an outstanding organization during the finals, ranking third among 333 participating universities and research institutes. Eight XMU faculty members from the School of Electronic Science and Engineering (National Model Microelectronics College), including Chen Zhong, received the Excellent Instructor Award.

The contest, one of the most influential events of the China Postgraduate Innovation and Practice Competitions, focuses on electronics and information science, covering sectors such as industry, national defense, and education.

During preparations, XMU's School of Electronic Science and Engineering organized multiple rounds of targeted training to strengthen student teams. XMU also hosted the East China regional competition, which brought together nearly 1,000 faculty and students from 42 universities in the region.
