In celebration of the 30th World Book Day, Xiamen University hosted the "Nanqiang Book Picks: Borrow as You Choose" event on April 22 and 23 at the Main Library on Siming Campus.

The newly launched "Nanqiang Book Picks" platform features nearly 3,000 newly published books. To cater to the diverse reading interests of faculty and students, the platform includes eight curated themed sections: New Releases on Party Building, Integrity Education, Library Bestsellers, Literary Classics, Artificial Intelligence, Recommended Titles, Douban New Releases, and Mental Health.

The event received an enthusiastic response from the campus community, setting a new record for on-site borrowing. Many popular titles were checked out as soon as they were displayed. Over the two-day event, more than 1,000 books were recommended and borrowed.

Although the event has concluded, the Nanqiang Book Picks platform continues to serve readers. As of April 22, the platform is in trial operation, offering features such as librarian recommendations, one-stop search for print and digital books, themed reading lists, and trending book suggestions.
