Twenty students from universities in Turkey took part in a Chinese language and cultural summer camp at Xiamen University (XMU) from June 28 to July 7, gaining firsthand experience of Chinese society, technology, and traditions.

The "Chinese Bridge" summer camp for students from the Confucius Institute at Middle East Technical University was organized by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation under China's Ministry of Education and hosted by XMU.

At the opening ceremony, Turkish students sang the Chinese song "Gardenia in Blossom" and performed traditional Turkish dances.

During their stay in Xiamen, the participants explored XMU's academic environment and the city's cultural attractions. They toured the university's Xiang'an and Siming campuses, attended lectures on China's social development, technological advances, traditional culture, and education, and engaged in cultural activities such as Five-Step Boxing.

The students also explored Xiamen's landmarks, including Gulangyu Island, Zhongshan Road, and SM City Plaza, gaining insights into Xiamen's history and urban life. A visit to Xiamen Jiarong Technology offered them a glimpse of modern Chinese industries.

The cultural journey continued in Beijing from July 4 to July 7, where the students visited historical sites including the Palace Museum, Tian'anmen Square, the Summer Palace, and the Great Wall to immerse themselves in China's cultural heritage.
