Xiamen University (XMU) plans to host the China-ASEAN Conference on Translation, Interpreting, and Communication at Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) from April 17 to 20, 2026.
The conference will bring together experts from China and ASEAN countries in translation, interpreting, and communication to share insights on disciplinary development, career pathways, talent cultivation, and the building of academic communities.
The conference themes will include: interdisciplinarity and new paradigms in translation, interpreting, and communication; regional synergy and transnational translation, interpreting, and communication communities; civilizational dialogue and regional development; communication quality evaluation and reception studies in translation and interpreting; AI-driven innovations in translator and interpreter education; as well as translation and interpreting practices, training, and markets in the China-ASEAN region.
The conference will take place from April 17 to 20, 2026, with registration on April 17, sessions from April 18 to 19, and departure on April 20. The venue is XMUM in Selangor, a southern suburb of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The conference is open for auditing. Interested colleagues and scholars are kindly requested to complete the registration form by Feb 1, 2026, as seats are limited.
