Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) is exploring expanded collaboration with Xiamen University (XMU) in East China's Fujian province.
MUST President Li Xingwei visited XMU along with colleagues on July 15. XMU President Zhang Zongyi met with the guests accompanied by Dai Minhan, an academician at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and director at the Faculty of Earth Sciences and Technology at XMU, and Ji Rongrong, president assistant and director at the Office of Science & Technology at XMU.
President Zhang gave a briefing on XMU's achievements in discipline development, talent cultivation, and digital transformation. He also reviewed the history of cooperation between the two universities and expressed the hope that they would further broaden the areas of collaboration.
On the other hand, President Li shared information on MUST's progress in scientific research commercialization, smart campus development, and international engagement. He looked forward to deeper cooperation in joint talent training and collaborative research and innovation.
Both sides agreed to build joint platforms and share resources to contribute to the development of Macao and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Great Bay Area.

Later, President Li and other representatives of MUST toured the XMU's history museum and visited the Tan Kah Kee Innovation Laboratory and the State Key Laboratory of Marine Environmental Science. They also held in-depth discussions on future cooperation.
