Over 800 XMU summer practice teams head nationwide and overseas

Xiamen University organized over 800 teams nearly 10,000 students to engage in summer social practice across China and Belt and Road countries. The practices covered multiple fields such as rural vitalization, industrial transformation, and the green economy.

Twelve teams contributed to local development via university-local cooperation. In Shanxi province, an archaeology team investigated the millennia-old secrets of the Yungang Grottoes in Datong.

Public service projects such as free clinics and teaching groups for rural education continued. Teams from the School of Public Health and other schools went out to Yunnan province, Sichuan province to raise awareness on HPV vaccination and gut health.

In the field of cutting-edge development, teams from different schools conducted research that combined competition projects. The School of Information's teams investigated AI-powered e-governance and fire warning systems.

Practice teams from various schools focus on green ecology, leveraging interdisciplinary approaches to provide replicable and scalable experiences for ecological and economic transformation across the country.

In addition, the teams actively participated in exchanges and interactions between China and abroad. The teams from the School of Medicine carried out traditional Chinese medicine-related projects, making TCM a youthful calling card for China on the global stage.

During this summer practice, students from Xiamen University applied their research results to various aspects of development in China and deeply felt the dramatic changes of the times.
