Xiamen's marine carnival ignites young minds

A marine sci-tech carnival was held in Xiamen's Jimei district on June 8. Spearheaded by Xiamen University's Museum of Marine Science and Technology and College of Ocean and Earth Sciences, in collaboration with local schools and tech organizations, the event aimed to promote marine science education among youth.

The carnival featured a number of innovative projects and marine defense education courses conducted by Xiamen University's volunteers and showcased the outcomes of various initiatives, fostering seamless integration between higher and basic education in nurturing innovative young talent.

Through interactive activities at 12 marine science and technology market stalls, the carnival aimed to enhance public understanding of cutting-edge technologies, particularly in the marine domain, and to spark interest in marine science and artificial intelligence among young attendees.

The carnival also included a technological experience zone and an industrial park study base, offering activities like knowledge contests and robotic soccer competitions, providing hands-on experiences to inspire young minds and cultivate future innovators in marine science and technology.

The marine sci-tech carnival not only provided a memorable experience for the community but also planted the seeds of curiosity, scientific inquiry, and innovation in the hearts of young participants, paving the way for a brighter future in marine exploration and technological advancement.
