A delegation of journalists from seven mainstream Indian media outlets, including The Times of India and India Today, visited the Xiang'an campus of Xiamen University (XMU) on April 26.
Liu Wanyu, deputy director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange at the university, extended a warm welcome to the visitors and briefed them on the international exchanges conducted by the university, as well as the academic exchange and cooperation between the university and India.
Jiang Yuta, chief of Office of Admissions and Examinations, introduced the history, current development status and curriculum features of XMU, and gave details on XMU's enrollment information for overseas students.
Li Wei, vice-dean of School of Medicine, talked about the Clinical Medicine(MBBS)Program undergraduate education, which is taught in English for international students studying in China. Li also provided details about the learning and lives led by Indian students at XMU.
Currently, over 300 Indian students have graduated from the MBBS program.
The delegation praised XMU's open educational characteristics, advanced teaching facilities and efficient medical education system. Members also investigated XMU's international student training models and differences in medical talent training systems between China and India.
The Indian media delegation also visited the National Medical Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Center at XMU.
