On May 24, the 11th edition of People’s Daily Overseas Edition published a news report entitledAn Echo of EducationalExchanges Between China and Malaysia Over A Hundred Years’ Time—The Genesis of Xiamen University Malaysia Campus(XMUMC),digging deep into the story of how XMUMC came about and came into being.The report claimed that XMUMC is China’s first wholly-owned branch school that enjoys an independent campus set up by Xiamen University in abroad, and it has become a platform for promoting cultural exchanges between China and Malaysia and will serve as a key link for “the Belt and Road Initiative”.
