On 15 July, a ceremony was held in the meeting room of Ziqin Building of Xiamen University, starting up the Social Expedition 2016. 9707 students and 566 teachers from 904 teams would go to different parts of China, especially the less developed areas. The Social Expedition is an annual activity during the summer vacation which offers students an opportunity to learn about the real situation of China, imbuing them with motivation to study for the development of the country.
