Xiamen University will implement a 6S management system to manage all the labs for undergraduate program, according to Vice President Wu Daguang.
Referring to the 5S management system, derived from Japanese words “Seiri” “Seiton” “Seiso” “Seikeetsu” and “Shit- suke” , respectively meaning sort, set in order, shine or purity, standardize, and sustain, aiming at bringing order to the workplace and thereby support lean production, Xiamen University adds another “S” (security) to the 5S to make the labs a safety, comfortable and bright work environment.
