On 18 September, American Geophysical Union (AGU) announced the 2024 AGU Fellow and award selection results. Professor Dai Minhan from the College of Ocean and Earth Sciences of XMU received two AGU award: AGU Fellow and the AGU Ambassador Award for Earth and Space Science.
AGU was founded in 1919 and is the largest and the most influential academic organization for earth and space scientist with over 60,000 members from 135 countries, involving atmosphere and marine science, solid earth science, hydrology, space science, planetary science and so on. AGU Fellow is an honor title awarded to not more than 0.1 percent of the total member to recognize to scientists for their foresight in the field of international earth and space science and outstanding achievement in scientific research. AGU established Ambassador Award in 2013. The award aims to recognize the outstanding individuals for their accomplishments in scientific research, education and international cooperation. These recipients typically have made exceptional contributions to earth and space science through a breakthrough, discovery, or innovation in their field and have broad social influence.
