On 11 November, the 2022 International Seminar on Global Poverty Reduction Partnerships, jointly organized by the International Poverty Reduction Center in China (IPRCC), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the World Food Program (WFP) and the China Internet Information Center (CIIC), was held at the Beijing Conference Center both onsite and online. More than 100 representatives from Chinese and foreign government departments, international agencies, social organizations, research institutes, and media participated in the seminars, and more than 100,000 people watched online. The award list of the third call of the Global Solicitation on Best Poverty Reduction Practices Best Cases was announced at the seminar, and the Case of Using University Resources to Empower Regional Industrial Development - Xiamen University's Construction of Kangye Poverty Alleviation Industrial Park in Longde County was successfully selected and will be collected into the Compilation of Best Poverty Reduction Case Studies 2022. This is the first time that XMU won this award.

The Global Solicitation on Best Poverty Reduction Practices” is jointly sponsored by IPRCC, the World Bank, FAO, IFAD, WFP, ADB, and CIIC, and is open to organizations and individuals worldwide who are concerned about poverty reduction and rural development. It aims to promote and share the successful practices of poverty reduction and rural development at home and abroad by using cases as carriers of practical experiences. It is reported that the poverty reduction cases received in the third call involved more than 50 countries, including China, Afghanistan, Nepal, Vietnam, Malaysia, the Philippines, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, and India, and 104 best cases from around the world were selected.

By the end of 2021, Longde County Kangye Poverty Alleviation Industrial Park has achieved a total industrial output value of 590 million yuan, paid 5.5 million yuan in taxes, hosted 60 enterprises, provided thousands of jobs for the local community. It significantly increased per capita income, helped the people of Longde and explored a new way for poverty alleviation.
