Professor Zhang Zongyi assumed office as the President of XMU. Professor Zhang Rong will serve as XMU Party Secretary. 

Professor Zhang Zongyi was born in May 1964. He began his professional career in February 1988 and is a CPC member. Professor Zhang obtained his PhD in Power System & Automation and PhD in Economics from Chongqing University and the University of Portsmouth respectively. He previously served as the President of Chongqing University and Southwestern University of Finance and Economics.
