National Institute of Diagnostics and Vaccine Development in Infectious Diseases
The mission of National Institute of Diagnostics and Vaccine Development in Infectious Diseases (NIDVD) is to apply the latest technologies to produce high quality preventive or therapeutic products at low cost.
NIDVD was established in 2005 in Xiamen University with the support of Ministry of Science and Technology of China, dedicated to develop novel human vaccines, biological therapeutic products, diagnostic reagents and biomarkers for infectious and chronic diseases. NIDVD’s vision is a world free of heavy disease burden and health care products accessible to everyone.
NIDVD and its predecessor research team have near 20 years history in developing novel diagnostic reagents and vaccines, with the capability to conduct translational medicine research from bench to clinical trials. NIDVD has established a robust and versatile E. coli based protein expression platform for diagnostics and biologic research and development. NIDVD has developed and maintained state-of-the-art diagnosis technology platforms, in vitro cell models and in vivo experimental animal models. In addition, NIDVD is experienced for structural analysis of viruses and protein assemblies, in particular the key epitopes which are critical for vaccine and biologics design and development.
IDVD has engaged in numerous collaborations with national and international institutes and commercial identities. IDVD is continuously seeking out possible cooperative partners for technology promotion, product development and evaluation for the benefits of global health.
