Vice president of Lanzhou University heads delegation on visit to XMU

On March 11, Cao Hongvice president of Lanzhou University (LZU), led a delegation to visit Xiamen University. Li Jianfa, vice president of XMU and deputy secretary of School Party Committeeand Zhan Xinli, vice president of XMU warmly received the guests.

  

Both sides exchanged views on how to improve the management of the alumni associations and education foundation. Vice President Li Jianfa first briefed the visitors about how Xiamen University has run its education foundation and alumni affairs, and shared, in particular, with the guests from LZU,  the experience accrued from the projects that XMU had set up with regard to its educational fund. Li then went on introducing how XMU has promoted the development of her alumni associations by setting up associations in terms of academic majors and professional fields, by strengthening horizontal linkages between the alumni, and by inviting some alumni as tutors and establishing alumni scholarships, etc. He believed that these measures would contribute to win-win outcomes for both alumni and the school. After hearing Li’s introduction, Vice President Cao Hong also gave a brief introduction to the updates of the alumni affairs of Lanzhou University from the aspects of the organizational structure and the latest development of her local alumni associations. She said that Xiamen University has set a good example for LZU for her rich and valuable experience and methods in multiple areas such as alumni affairs and the management of the foundation.
