Recently, the 4668 undergraduate freshmen of 2016 session of XMU have come to school and finished the registration process, among which 3546 students would live and study at Siming Campus and 1122 at Xiang'an Campus. On the morning of August 27, the opening ceremony of the undergraduate freshmen of 2016 session was held at Shangxian Playground, Siming Campus.

Professor Zhu Chongshi, the president of the university, expressed a warm welcome to the 4362 undergraduate freshmen of 2016 session and the 1320 new students of XMU Malaysia Campus. He said, after entering the university, students would learn new things in new ways and have new learning experiences and must rethink how to learn during their study. He hoped that students could learn happily and humbly with gratitude, curiosity and peace.
