On May 1, more than 1000 schoolfellows of Grade 1986 gathered at Xiamen University to celebrate the 95^th anniversary of their Alma Mater. To express their gratitude to the university, they started a venture capital of RMB 500,000,000 to help students venture into enterprise. The capital is named “Phoenix Tree Blossom Venture Capital”, with the flower of phoenix tree, the school flower, as the symbol of their growing up in the university.

    The evening party was full of nostalgia, at which pop stars that were popular during 1980s in China were invited to perform and the songs sung by these stars and the ten top campus singers of the year 1986 provoked their feeling for the bygone days.

    “Ten thousand people may have ten thousand ways to understand and explain the meaning of feelings. Likewise, different schoolfellows may have different ways to express their feelings, while this is the special way that we alumni of Grade 1986 do,” said one of former student of Philosophy.
