Malaysia MITI and ACCCIM delegation visits XMU

    On September 8, Dato’ Seri Ong Ka Chuan and Datuk Ter Leong Yap and their delegation visited Xiamen University and had a meeting with Zhu Chongshi, president of XMU, Ye Shiman, vice president of XMU, Zhang Jianlin, assistant president, and Wang Ruifang, president-designate of XMU Malaysia Campus.

    At the meeting, President Zhu expressed his thanks on behalf of XMU to Dato’ Seri Ong Ka Chuan, Datuk Ter Leong Yap and prominent personage in Malaysia for their great support on the construction of XMU Malaysia Campus. He said that XMU has been taking the internationalization of education as the major strategy and goal of XMU. XMU Malaysia Campus is entrusted with many people's hopes and aspirations. It will surely serve as an effective link between China and the countries in south-east Asia, promoting the bilateral development in the fields of economy, trade, science and technology, education and culture. He hoped to build the XMU Malaysia Campus into one which is widely popular in Asia and the world.

    Dato’ Seri Ong Ka Chuan said that the cooperation in business cannot be separated from the cooperation in education and cultural exchange, as well as the high quality talents. According to him, XMU Malaysia Campus is an important issue in the relation between the two countries. Its construction and development would provide high quality education sources and great number of high quality talents. Malaysia would spare no effort to support the project. He hoped that all the participants can keep effective communication and interaction so as to promote the construction of the campus.
