Xiamen University’s Fifth Xiamen Winter Symposium
On 7 Dec. 2014, Xiamen University held the fifth Xiamen Winter Symposium. It focused on the studies of the zebra-fish model for translational and regnerative medicine. Among the 150 people who attended were scientists and researchers from America, Germany, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao and other places. Professor Meng Anming from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, China, Professor Ken Poss from Duke University, U.S.A., Professor Zhiyuan Gong from the National University of Singapore, as well as, 21 other professors and experts were all invited to give speeches about their research during the symposium. Their research and insights were enthusiastically received by everyone.
Xiamen Winter Symposium has become an annual event which is an international platform for leading edge, scientific research in life sciences. Each symposium has a core theme. The former four themes were “Multi-Scale Imaging for Biology”, “Metabolic Regulations and Diseases”, “Molecular Mechanismsand Signaling in Cancer Biology” and “Major Viral Infectious Diseases in Asia".
