Students from Xiamen University Won First Prize in the National Spark Programming Competition
A group of students from Xiamen University in the School of Information Science and Technology won first prize in the 2014 National Spark Programming Competition which ran from 30 September to 3 December. This competition was organized by Spark Asian Research Institute and 51CTO, and, is the largest platform in China for IT technological innovation and development. The contestants were from 150 colleges and universities around China.
Spark technology is a hybrid of cloud computing and will be the core technology for the next generation of cloud computing. This computer terminology has recently evolved and is based on utility and consumption of computing resources. Cloud computing involves deploying groups of remote servers and software networks that allow centralized data storage and online access to computer services and resources.
