Xiamen University has brought two collaborative innovation centers into the “2011 project”of China

Xiamen University has won the leadership of two collaborative innovation centers of the national“2011 project”which aims at promoting the innovation of China’s universities. The two centers are respectively Collaborative Innovation Center of Chemistry for Energy Materials and Collaborative Innovation Center for Peaceful Development of Cross-Strait Relations. There are 182 candidates from 18 top universities competing for the leadership of 24 centers.

Collaborative Innovation Center of Chemistry fro Energy Materials is mainly composed of Xiamen University, Fudan University, University of Science and Technology of China, Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The collaborative research focuses on the national energy strategy, including optimization of energy materials, chemical power storage and transformation as well as transformation of solar energy,etc., while the members of Collaborative Innovation Center for Peaceful Development of Cross-Strait Relations are Xiamen University, Fudan University, Institute of Taiwan Studies Academy of Social Sciences, Fujian Normal University, focusing on the studies of the theories related to the peaceful development of the relation between Taiwan and the mainland, economic integration of Taiwan and the mainland, integration of two social systems, intermingling of culture and education, and cooperative administration of affairs between two sides, etc..

The “2011 project”,supported by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance,aiming at the reform of the university’s personnel administration system, encouraging the mobility of professionals and activating innovation.
