On 17, July, Wang Menghui, the Party Secretary of Xiamen Party committee, stated that the local government will continue its support to Xiamen University in the independent innovation and transformation of the scientific and technological achievements, when inspecting the Graphene Industrial Technology Research Institute and the special laboratory of advanced materials in College of Materials.

Wang got a deep impression on what have achieved in the researches on graphene, special fibres, energy materials, thin films and nanomaterials, as well as the transformation of these achievements into productive forces .

Wang looked to the great market potential for these scientific and technological achievements. He stated that the local government will work together with the university in the construction of a new system to encourage the innovation and transformation of these achievements.
