A three-year research "Interfacial Effects in Iron-Nickel Hydroxide–Platinum Nanoparticles Enhance Catalytic Oxidation" guided by Prof. Zheng with help from Zheng Nanfeng, Fu Gang, and Chen Mingshu are responsible for synthesis, feature and test the catalyst. Researcher Gu Lin from Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Prof. Zhang Peng of Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, and researcher Li Zhifu, from Synchrotron Radiation Center, Taiwan helped in this achievement. The first author, Chen Guangxu, and second author Zhao Yun, are PhD candidates of the Chemistry and Chemical Engineering School, Collaborative Innovation Center of Chemistry for Energy Materials.

This project is funded by the National Scientific Fund, Department of Science, Xiamen University, and State Key Laboratory of physical Chemistry of Solid Surfaces (Xiamen University), and National Engineering Laboratory for Green Chemical Productions of Alcohols-Ethers.
