President Zhang Jinfu of Yuan Ze University together with Dean of School of Engineering Li Shuoren, and Dean of School of Electronic Communications Lin Zhimin, and Chief of Office of International and Cross Strait Wang Weikang visited Xiamen Univeristy. President Zhu Chongshi welcomed them. Chiefs of School of Physics and Electronic Engineering, School of Information and Technology, Office of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao also joined the welcoming ceremony.

President Zhu Chongshi welcomed the guests by introducing the structure of Xiamen University, the main majors, talents nurture, and scientific achievement. President Zhu Chongshi said, Xiamen University and Yuan Ze University had a long time friendship, a cooperation and exchange in talent development, and in academic research. He also expressed his sincere wish to promote the communication between two schools, in order to optimize the advantages of both sides, and enhance cooperation in communications, photo electricity, and materials. He welcomed more students and staff of Yuan Ze University to visit Xiamen University.

Zhang Jinfu said that Xiamen University had always been a role model of Yuan Ze University, and its features in innovative management, nurture system reform, and caring students were all worthy of imitation. He hoped that by this trip, the two universities could deepen their friendship and expand the cooperation to exchange of undergraduate, graduate and even PhD students. Meanwhile, he wished that both universities could emphasize communication between School of Engineering and School of Electronic Communications, to benefit the mutual development.

Zhang Jinfu also had conversations with students and staff from School of Engineering and School of Electronic Communications, and visited Xiang'an Campus.

Yuan Ze University, founded in 1989, consists of School of Engineering, School of Electronic Communications, School of Management, and School of Media and Humanities. Xiamen University had a cooperative contract with Yuan Ze University in 2009. In the same year, the School of Information and Technology signed an agreement with its counterpart in Yuan Ze University. Later on, the School of Information and Technology sent 4 to 5 graduate students to study in Yuan Ze University every year.
