Fang Wenhong won the second place in the final of the second International Chinese-English Simultaneous Interpreting Competition, in Newcastle, UK, on April 23 and 24. The only Chinese-English simultaneous interpreting event in the world drew 27 contestants from UK, the US and China. It featured strong specialization, high difficulty and wide ranges in subjects, challenging the simultaneous interpreting skills and the comprehensive abilities of the contestants in an all-round way.

The Master’s College and the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges of XMU, the College of Foreign Languages and Cultures (CFLC) selected Fang wenhong and Fang yuhan as our competitors.  Translation and Interpreting is a newly-emerged subject in CFLC. In recent years, our students have frequently won prizes in various national competitions.
