"Immortalizing, the Ancient Rhyme"- the First Chinese Traditional Culture Month Closed
The first Chinese Traditional Culture Knowledge Competition, “Immortalizing, the Ancient Rhyme, Evolving the Knowledge World”, marked the completion of the first Chinese Traditional Culture Month of April.
Co-hosted by the Dean’s Office of XMU, the Youth League Committee of XMU and the College of Liberal Arts, this culture month consisted of Qingming Cultural Forum, the Collection of Traditional Handicraft Works and the Chinese Traditional Culture Knowledge Competition.
On April 2nd, the Qingming Cultural Forum invited three celebrities in Liberal Arts, Mr. Zhu Shuiyong, Mr. Fu Xiaofan and Mr. Li Zhijun, as well as the famous folkways expert, Mr. Peng Yiwan to talk about the Qingming Culture from the perspective of Literature, Folklore, Historiography and Anthropology. Xinhua News Agency, China News Service, Xiamen Daily, Xiamen Evening Paper and Guangming Daily reported.
From April 21st to 23rd, the Exhibition of the Collection of Traditional Handicraft Works was held in Ziqin building. This exhibition consisted of traditional handicrafts like paper cuttings, paper carvings, seal cuttings, and Chinese knots as well as the ones with innovations like rubber seals, cross-stitches, computer-designed paper art and original Han costume design. Many teachers and professors also participated. Their skills, imagination and are integrated into each of the handicraft.
The final of the Chinese Traditional Culture Knowledge Competition, “Immortalizing, the Ancient Ryhme, Evolving, the Knowledge World”, was on the 26th. 45 teams and 135 members participated.
"Immortalizing, the Ancient Rhyme”, the first Chinese Traditional Culture Month aimed to develop traditional skills and promote traditional ethics. And to deepen students’ understanding and knowledge of the traditional essence, intensifying their patriotic honor, reaping fruitful harvest in the ideological and political education and in the setup of the socialist core values.
