XMU's First Affiliated Hospital Partners with Taipei Medical University

On July 12, 2014, a strategic cooperation agreement was signed between the First Affiliated Hospital of XMU and Taipei Medical University. Jiang Jie, the director of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University, stated that this cooperation with Taipei Medical University will surely help to develop the medical disciplines at XMU's First Affiliated Hospital to a new level.

Taipei Medical University is a famous, medical university in Taiwan and the world. It has three JCI accredited affiliated hospitals. In 2012, Taipei Medical University was ranked as one of the World's Top 100 universities to study medicine, according to the QS World University Rankings. The university has a strong team in clinical practice, teaching and research, and it also has an outstanding reputation in administration and management of hospitals.

The First Affiliated Hospital of XMU is under reform to be in line with the international standards necessary for it to be a respected hospital with high standards. There is still a lot of work to be done in the fields of clinical practice,teaching and research, while Taipei Medical University has a rich experience in these fields. With the two hospitals working together, it will help to ensure the success of reforms at the First Affiliated Hospital of XMU, stated Jiang Jie.

This agreement will promote mutual cooperation with both hospitals in such areas as hospital management, medical services, academic exchanges, scientific research and in other important fields. Medical professionals from both hospitals will regularly visit each other’s hospital and exchange discourses on medical education, academic research and the continued development and improvement in each hospital.
