On the afternoon of December 16, the 1^st Chinese National Collegiate Paddle Board Challenge was successfully wrapped up with the end of the 3-km paddle race held at the Shimei Bay in Wanning, Hainan Province. Ding Qiuhong from Xiamen University team took home two gold medals in the women's 500-meter race and 1-km race on the afternoon of the 15.

The Chinese National College Paddle Board Challenge is one of the four top national surfing events in the 2017 National Surfing Series opened on December 15, having attracted the participation of almost 100 players from 18 college teams nationwide including Xiamen University, Nanjing University and Dalian Maritime University. This is the first time China has held its college students paddle board challenge, having established such events as 500-meter race, 1-km race and 3-km endurance race for both males and females.
