XMU President Zhang Rong meets with delegation of PUEB

On November 11, Maciej Zukowski, President of Poznan University of Economics and Business (PUEB), headed a delegation to pay a visit to Xiamen University. Zhang Rong, president of XMU, met with the visiting guests from afar. Both sides held a friendly talk.


President Zhang Rong extended a warm welcome to President Maciej Zukowski and gave him an overview of XMU’s strengths and its cooperation with universities in Poland. He noted that Poland is an important nation along the “21st Century Maritime Silk Road” and XMU looks forward to closer cooperation with Polish universities.



President Maciej Zukowski also briefed those present at the meeting on the history and the strongest academic programs of  PUEB as well as the geographical advantages and historical heritage of the city Poznan. At the same time, he expressed his heartfelt wishes that the two universities could deepen their cooperation in such disciplines like economics and management in the days to come.

  

President Zhang Rong concurred, pointing out that the cooperation between the two universities could start with disciplines like economics and management so as to lay a solid groundwork for future cooperation in all disciplines. Meanwhile, both universities will seek the support of the local governments to gain momentum for their partnership.

  

Also present at the meeting were Shi Qiuheng, vice dean of XMU Institute of Education and Zhang Shengqiang, vice dean of XMU Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges.

  

Poznan University of Economics and Business, a public university founded in 1926 in Poznan, is one of the oldest, most prestigious schools of economics in Poland. It is also a main school of economics in the Midwest Poland whose field of economics ranks the second in the country.
