XMU Students reap golds at Internet+ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition

On September 15, the three-day final of the 3rd China College Students Internet+ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (hereafter, the Competition) kicked off in Xidian University. XMU students made history by bringing home 2 gold medals, 1 silver, and 1 bronze, as well as the Advanced Unit Award and the title of Exemplary University for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Reform.


A total number of 1.5 million college students from 2,241 colleges and universities participated in the event, and 119 teams from China and 17 overseas teams advanced to the final. After fierce contest, the final turned out altogether 30 gold medals and 89 silvers domestically and 4 golds and 13 silvers for the international channel.


The Competition is so far an event of the highest level in its class with the broadest participation in China. It is organized to encourage more college students to join in China’s mass entrepreneurship and innovation drive, to facilitate the market-wise transfer of the winning projects and the close integration of production, education and scientific research. In the meantime, the Competition serves to enhance college students’ entrepreneurial consciousness, innovative spirit and creativity, help the graduates to start new businesses of a higher standard and land better jobs. It is announced that XMU will play host to the 4th national contest, which is sponsored by the Ministry of Education and the Government of Fujian Province.
