25 XMU postdocs receive grants from China’s Postdoctoral Science Foundation

Recently, the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation announced the name list of the 61st batch of approved grantees, a total of 25 postdoctoral fellows from Xiamen University are eligible for the funding, which has surpassed the average number of the first three batches.

  

In this batch of postdocs, 7 from XMU are granted first class funds, they are respectively from the postdoctoral centers of chemistry, environmental science and engineering and marine science.The second class grants go to 18 postdocs from the centers of physics, chemistry, information and communication engineering, marine sciences, applied economics, law, Chinese language and literature, respectively.

  

China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, which was established especially for postdoctoral fellows by the government in 1985, is intended to provide scientific and research funds for postdocs in the postdoctoral research centers, and the funds mainly fall into two types: general and special. The general type includes start-up funds and supplementary funds for postdoctoral fellows’ innovative researches, with the first class recipients receiving 80,000 RMB per person and second class 50,000 RMB per person. And the special type of funds are awarded to those postdoctoral researchers who have obtained great achievements or have demonstrated exceptional research aptitude, with each recipient receiving 150,000 RMB.
