On 7 September, XMU held the 2023 Opening Ceremony. 13,000 students joined the event both online and on site.

President Zhang Zongyi addressed the attendees, giving a warm welcome to the freshmen on behalf of the university and expecting them to adapt well to the new life and study hard to embrace the world.
