On June 13, Du Zhanyuan, vice minister of the Ministry of Education and member of the Party Group, went to Ningxia University for an investigation of the “Double First-class” construction work. Also present at the event were relevant leaders from the Ministry of Education, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Xiamen University, Shenhua Ningxia Coal Industry Group Corporation and Ningxia University. At the meeting, Deng Zhaohui, member of the Standing Party Committee of Xiamen University, signed a cooperation agreement on behalf of XMU with Ningxia University with regard to the corresponding strongest disciplines of both schools.

Deng Zhaohui pointed out that Xiamen University has committed itself to the mission of serving the society and serving the western regions of China. In recent years, Xiamen University has worked closely with Ningxia University and has reaped a bumper harvest in this regard. Xiamen University will continue to adhere to the principle of “promoting cooperation and development based on the needs of Ningxia University and the strength of Xiamen University”, take a more proactive role in the overall cooperation between Fujian and Ningxia, give full play to its advantages and step up the substantive cooperation between the corresponding disciplines of the two universities with an eye to achieving higher-level, higher-quality exchange and cooperation.

Representative of XMU at the meeting were those from relevant units such as the development planning office and the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.
