On the morning of December 23, the Belt and Road Fund of the China Cultural Heritage Foundation signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Overseas Education College / International College of XMU.

According to the memorandum, the “Belt and Road” Fund and XMU will work together to push to let the cultural education take the lead in the “Belt and Road” Initiative. Based on the jointly-built B&R Center of Chinese Studies, both sides will continue to set up sub-centers in the B&R countries in collaboration with relevant ministries of China. It’s planned that the sub-centers will be first built in universities and cultural institutions in such countries as Pakistan, Malaysia, France, Philippines and Cambodia. In the meantime, they will establish in partnership with relevant ministries the B&R Intangible Cultural Heritage Database as well as the B&R Committee on the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage, and organize the training on how to preserve, promote and publicize intangible cultural heritage, which includes the exploration, protection, promotion of the heritage as well as related investment tourist projects.
