From November 26 to 27, the 2016 Academic Annual Conference of the Contemporary Accounting Review and the Smposium on Prof. Ge Jiashu’s Academic Thoughts was grandly held at Xiamen University. This academic event was jointly hosted by the XMU Accounting Development Research Center and the Department of Accounting XMU. At the conference, Prof. Lin Zhijun, Director of the Business School of Macau University of Science and Technology, delivered a keynote speech entitled “To Establish a Management System of the Corporate Strategic  Quality Cost ”. Prof. Lin, based on the corporate strategies, probed into such contents as the prevention, detection and evaluation of quality cost, as well as the quality cost report and management system. Furthermore, he pointed out the significance of cost management, and introduced the research and actual development of the corporate management of quality cost.  He believed that this area is worth further study since it is difficult to create a direct link between the management of quality cost and the current profits of businesses, and hence it is hard to measure and quantify the former.

The experts and scholars who were present at the meeting reached a consensus that this is indeed a high-level academic symposium, which, on the one hand, is a tribute to Prof. Ge Jiashu and a comprehensive review of his academic thoughts, on the other hand，is an introduction and an exploration of the latest development in the domain of management and accounting as well as an in-depth discussion about some of the original theses at the forefront of the study and research, and the insightful comments given by the experts on the research work of the youth scholars are particularly worthy of note and learning.
