From Nov 23 to 25, the XMU delegation, headed by Vice President Zhan Xinli, attended the 6^th Shanhai Forum at Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou, the capital city of Guangdong Province. This year, Xiamen University has formed a formidable lineup of professors, PhD students as well as administrators for this meeting.

Under the theme of “broader cooperation and deeper communication”, this forum has assembled approximately 200 scholars from the three universities across the Straits, who sat down under the same roof to discuss about academic topics of mutual interest in an effort to further promote academic exchanges, open up new grounds and gain more achievements between the three schools.

Zhan Xinli, vice president of XMU, expressed her sincere wish that this forum would yield more fruits of cooperation by holding such a grand academic event in the glamorous city of Guangzhou where the scholars from across the straits gathered together to brainstorm and spark ideas regarding progress and development. Zhan also pointed out that the “Shanhai Fund” established by XMU in 2013 has long been supportive of the forum and researches in related fields. The trilateral partnership since the founding of the Shanhai Forum has become more extensive, closer and deepened. The forum, to a larger extent, has served as an impetus for the three universities to upgrade their educational quality and empower their academic strength.
