On November 19, the 9th Annual National Conference on Undergraduate Innovation and Entrepreneurship was formally opened at the Science and Art Center of Xiamen University. Themed as “Strive constantly for innovation and look into the future”, the conference was hosted by the Ministry of Education of China and co-organized by Xiamen University.

The conference not only showcased the latest achievements in terms of undergraduate innovation and entrepreneurship, but also provided a solid platform to shore up undergraduate innovation and entrepreneurship training plan, and speed up the recommendation and conversion of brilliant entrepreneurial ideas and findings. At the convention, the chiefs who are in charge of education at local levels held in-depth discussions on the training programs made for the undergraduate startups. Some entrepreneurs and Angel investors were also invited to the conference where they made comments on the recommended programs and gave their valuable advice to the aspiring entrepreneurs by citing their own life stories.

XMU achieved outstanding breakthrough by having its entrepreneurial programs appearing on the approved list in all three major categories at the same time, including two academic papers, two demo programs and one entrepreneurship recommendation program, the number of the approved ones is up 150% from last year, which is the best performance so far. In addition, it is also a qualitative as well as a quantitative leap for XMU to have raked in awards across the board in the Innovation Application Contest, which includes two programs shortlisted for the finals, one “Excellent Entrepreneurial Program”, one “Best Creativity Award ” , one “My Most Favorite Program”, one “Excellent Application Student Team”.
