2016 XMU “Top Ten of My Favorite Teachers” awarding ceremony held

 On the evening of October 27th, Xiamen University held a grand awarding ceremony to honor its Top Ten of My Favorite Teachers at Jian’nan Auditorium in Siming Campus.

  

At the ceremony, the elaborately-made intro videos were played to showcase the impressive achievements and work ethics of the award-winning teachers, a passionate award speech was delivered, trophies and flowers presented. Following that, each teacher winner shared their teaching experiences and stories that pulled at the heart strings of the audience and warmed the cockles of everyone’s heart at the scene.




 The ten awarded teachers are from different colleges and schools, including Tong Jinzhi from the School of Economics, Jiang Yunbao from the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Wang Ying from School of Aerospace Engineering, Li Mingzhe from the College of Physics Science and Technology, Chi Yueli from the College of Journalism and Communication, Li Zili from the School of Arts and Humanities, Lu Zhikui from the School of Public Affairs and Wu Longzeng from the School of Management. What these teachers have in common is the rigor and vigor exuded in their research and teaching. They are without a doubt the most beautiful scenery in XMU.

 



This event, initiated by the Students’ Union and the Postgraduate Association and joined by various students’ organizations and all the students, has been successfully held for four consecutive years and also been warmly welcomed by all the teachers and students. It aims to promote the age-old Chinese tradition of respecting teachers and valuing education, and create positive and inclusive campus vibes, and express students’ gratitude for their beloved teachers.

  

More than 1500 people, including the Deputy Secretary of CPC in XMU, Lai Hongkai and Lin Dongwei, the Vice President of XMU Zhan Xinli, and other leaders from various departments and offices of XMU, as well as student representatives, gathered together to mark the joyous occasion.
