On Oct. 21st, the 2016 China Aeromodelling Design Challenge (CADC) drew to a close in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province. Following a week’s fierce competition, XMU team stood out among over 100 rival teams with its superb performance, pocketing two golds, four silvers, three bronzes, and better yet, the honorary title of the “Excellent Team”.

CADA is co-hosted by the Ministry of Education, the Area Control Center of the State General Administration of Sports, and the Aero Sports Federation of China. This contest has been successfully held 13 times since 2004, and it is by far the highest-level and largest-scale scientific research aeromodelling competition in China and ranks among the top three world intercollegiate aeromodelling contests, the other two being the Air Cargo Challenge (ACC) and the US International Aero Design Competition. The XMU aeromodelling design team is composed of 29 members who are divided into four project teams and led by Guo Lijun, a senior engineer from School of Airspace, Xiamen University. As early as the beginning of this year, they set up a base in the No.8 grotto of the Furong Tunnel and had made a meticulous preparation for CADC,2016.
