On Oct.15^th and 16^th , the 2016 National College Students Canoeing Championships took place in Lishui, Zhejiang Province. It was hosted by Chinese Canoeing Association and the Association of Collegiate Sports of China. Teams from 32 universities vied for the championships in four groups, i.e. Open Group, High-level Group, Professional Group and Paddleboard Group.

XMU team signed up for seven events and achieved brilliant results, and pocketed 3 championships respectively in Men's K-1 200m, Men's C-2 and Women's K-1, 3 bronzes in Women's C-1, 5x200 Relay Race and Men's Paddleboard 500m, and better yet,  the top team prize.

The team members are from ten different colleges of Xiamen University and composed of some seasoned players who are with the XMU Dragon Boat Team and new recruits of this July as well as two international students.

Ever since the team was formed, every member has spared no effort in their intensive training and made impressive improvement in stamina, skills and tactics.
